Ingredients

Before we get cooking, here’s everything you need. Check items off as you go — at home or in the store.

Directions

  • Pat pork skin dry thoroughly with paper towels. Using a sharp knife or kitchen shears, cut into bite-sized strips or squares.
  • Place pork skin pieces in a bowl and season with salt. Toss to coat evenly. Lightly drizzle with vegetable oil and mix well.
  • Arrange pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each piece for airflow.
  • Cook at 250°F for 20–25 minutes to begin rendering the fat, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Increase air fryer temperature to 400°F and continue cooking for 10–15 minutes, shaking occasionally, until the pieces puff and become crisp and golden.
  • Transfer hot pork rinds to a bowl and toss with pepper, paprika, and garlic powder until evenly coated. Serve warm.
  • NOTE: For best texture, ensure pork skin is very dry before cooking—any excess moisture can prevent crisping. Seasoning after cooking helps the spices stick without burning. Cook time may vary depending on thickness of the skin pieces.
