Grilled Sausage Grinder with Onions and Peppers​

Before we get cooking, here’s everything you need. Check items off as you go — at home or in the store.

Directions

  • Preheat grill or flat top to 400-450°F.
  • Place sausages, onions, and peppers on hot grill and close lid. Grill for 5 minutes.
  • Flip everything and close lid for an additional 3 minutes. If everything is well charred and sausages have reached a minimal internal temperature of 160°F, remove from grill. If not, continue to cook for 2-3 more minutes.
  • Roughly chop onions and peppers, discarding the onion core. Halve sausages lengthwise. ​
  • Toast sub rolls if desired. Place each sausage in a roll and top with grilled peppers and onions. Finish with spicy mustard if desired.
